About Romano

The geek behind SEOgeek

Romano Groenewoud is a freelance SEO specialist and the founder of SEOgeek.nl. For over a decade he has helped entrepreneurs gain more visitors, leads and revenue from organic search.

After studying International Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Romano deliberately chose the freelance path. No agency with expensive offices and account managers, but one specialist who does the work himself. That saves overhead, noise and misunderstandings.

Romano works as a digital nomad: sometimes from Brielle in the Netherlands, sometimes from a tropical location. For clients it makes no difference. Meetings happen over video calls, reports arrive on time, and results count, not office hours.

Values

What Romano stands for

Honesty over revenue

If SEO cannot help a business, the owner hears it right away. Better a good referral than an invoice without results.

Plain language

SEO is full of jargon. Romano translates it into everyday language, so every client understands where the money goes and what it delivers.

Sustainable work

No shortcuts that earn a penalty next year. Everything within Google's guidelines, built to last for years.

Limited intake

A maximum of six holistic campaigns per year. Quality requires attention, and attention cannot be divided endlessly.

Publications & media

Sharing knowledge is part of the job

Romano regularly writes and speaks about SEO and online marketing. His work has appeared on Emerce, Marketingfacts, Frankwatching and De Zaak. He has also been featured on BNR Nieuwsradio and contributed to publications by ABN AMRO and Nextens.

On SEOgeek.nl he shares guides, blogs and videos (in Dutch) for anyone who wants to tackle SEO themselves.
